Just a Thought on Kindness and Reflection…
I have family and friends who are Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, Atheist, and Native American. Some honor specific holidays, some observe sacred seasons, and some find meaning outside of religion altogether. I love that about the circle I’m blessed to be part of.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting—asking myself the hard but necessary questions:
Have I truly been kind?
Am I being respectful of others’ beliefs and ways of life?
Have I been loving and honest—not just with others, but with myself?
I don’t usually wear my faith or beliefs on my sleeve. But with everything going on in the world, I’ve felt a strong pull toward daily self-examination. Not just on holidays or special occasions—but in the quiet moments. The ones at night when I can’t sleep (which, let’s be honest, probably has more to do with age than anything else 😅), and the ones each morning when I wake and ask:
“Am I being the human being I truly want to be?”
I strive to be open-minded, compassionate, and thoughtful. I know I won’t get it right every time—none of us do. But each day I try to make fewer mistakes, listen more than I speak, and avoid hitting that internal rewind button that plays back old patterns.
I’m not trying to preach—just sharing.
In a world that can feel loud, divided, or overwhelming, maybe we can all lean into kindness, patience, love, and understanding just a little more.
Peace to all who are reflecting, observing, healing, growing—or simply navigating the sacredness of being alive. ❤️🙏🏽🌎
